NFPA and Fire Investigation
Instructor: Randy Watson
On-Demand Recording of Class - 2 Hours - Link "Active" until August 31, 2020
This presentation will provide an overview of the status of NFPA documents relating to fire investigation. The 2021 edition of NFPA 921 has had the most revisions of any previous edition. The 2021 edition of NFPA 1033 had the most significant revisions in several cycles. Significant annex material is expected to be included to provide the investigator a better understanding of the knowledge required by the document. In the fall of 2017, NFPA received a request to form a new Technical Committee with the purpose of preparing a Standard on Fire Investigation Units. After publishing the proposal for Public Input, NFPA appointed a new Technical Committee in December 2018. This committee is currently drafting a new document that is expected to be published for Public Input in the fall of 2020.
