The Recognition and Use of Wi-Fi (Smart) Plug Data in Fire Investigations
Description:
This seminar will show insurance professionals how to identify Wi-Fi smart plugs in residential homes, and discuss where to obtain electronic data associated with these increasingly common devices. We will discuss the potential use of wi-fi smart devices as remote ignition sources for fires. We will also highlight a fire investigation case study where smart plug data was integral to determining the fire origin and cause. Additionally, we will discuss other non-traditional sources of digital data and how this data can impact your investigation.
