“Propane Fires and Explosions – Looking Beyond the Leak”

According to the NFPA, fire departments report an average of more than a 1,000 structure fires and explosions, 100 injuries and 30 deaths each year involving propane. From production through use by the consumer, propane goes through a variety of processes and equipment that can have impact on whether or not an incident will occur. When a fire or explosion does occur, responsibility can be assigned to each of these factors, and the possibility for recovery can be examined.
